The Situation in the El Obeid Region

El Obeid is a strategically important region of Sudan characterized by a complex socio-economic environment. This area faces a critical situation that requires constant attention from the international community and comprehensive support for the local population.

Humanitarian aid takes on particular significance here, as traditional ground cargo delivery methods are significantly limited. This makes air transportation the primary and most effective way to provide the population with essential food and material resources.

History of Non-Parachute Delivery Technology Development

Non-parachute airdrop technology began to actively develop from the late 1990s. A significant milestone was reached in 1998 when Sudan successfully conducted its first large-scale cargo delivery operation. During this operation, over 11,000 tons of humanitarian cargo were dropped with a remarkable 97% safety rate.

The next important stage in technology development spanned from 2003 to 2014. During this period, non-parachute cargo delivery operations were successfully conducted not only in Sudan but also in other regional countries — Ethiopia and Kenya. Over these years, the methodology was constantly improved, significantly enhancing the efficiency and safety of delivering humanitarian cargo to hard-to-reach regions.
