An IL-76 aircraft carries 3 to 4 platforms depending on the weight and size of the load, and an AN-12 aircraft can carry 1 or 2 platforms.

In 1990, using these systems the Company experts have successfully airdropped a bulldozer and a snowplowing machine modified from the DT-75 tractor weighing 8500 kg for the construction of an ice runway for a Sevmorgeologia expedition team. The runway was operational from April till June 1990 and could accommodate AN-12, AN- 26 and AN-74 type aircraft.

b) The Company experts have developed methods to use personal parachute systems of Д-5, Д-6, C-5K, ПСУ-36, C3-3 type and others modified for parachute load airdropping, thus cutting down their cost.

Such system is capable of airdropping a large variety of loads in this weight category, including even food in glass containers. The size of the landing area can be minimized to 400×600 m.
IL-76 aircraft carries 26 pallets. Maximum payload is 33800 kg.
AN-12 aircraft carries 9 pallets. Its payload may reach 11700 kg.
AN-74 aircraft carries 8 pallets. Its full payload may be 9500 kg (maximum payload).
AN-26 aircraft carries 5 to 7 pallets, with full payload reaching 5500 kg (maximum payload).

In 1993 the Company experts airdropped munitions and food in Angola, pioneering airdropping from an altitude of 7000 meters.

The Company experts have developed a system for airdropping granular loads using a nonparachute palletless method (RF Patent #2093424, priority of 3 March 1994; international patent PCT/RU 03/00273 of 06.25.2003).

IL-76 aircraft carries 26 pallets, payload – 36000 kg. AN-12 aircraft carries 8 pallets, payload – 13000-14000 kg, depending on operational conditions.

The system was originally used by the Company experts in 1998 in Sudan under the UN World Food Program. More than 11000 tons of food was airdropped, with 97 percent recovery rate. The 2003-2005 non-parachute airdropping in Sudan was also performed by experts from “Advanced Technologies and Service, Ltd.”

Combined method

The system of floor-mounted airdrop equipment developed by our experts makes it possible to perform combined airdrop operations from any of the above-mentioned type of aircraft.
Depending on the nature of loads to be airdropped, some pallets are airdropped by parachutes, others by a non-parachute method. The most cost efficient method is that of balancing weight characteristics and minimizing the cost of the airdrop.

OPTION #1 (Combined air delivery)
Under this option, IL-76 is capable of airdropping 24 pallets with dry food (palletless airdropping) and 2 pallets with vegetable oil (parachute airdropping). Dry food: 34000 kg, Vegetable oil: 2400 kg, Full weight: 36400 kg.
Preflight preparations and in-flight airdropping are carried out by a team of 5 dropmasters. Possible damage to oil does not exceed 2 percent.

OPTION #2 (Combined air delivery)
Under this option, AN-12 is capable of airdropping 8 pallets with dry food (palletless airdropping) and 1 pallet with vegetable oil (parachute airdropping). Dry food: 12000 kg, Vegetable oil: 1050 kg, Full weight: 13050 kg Preflight preparations and in-flight airdropping are carried out by a team of 3 dropmasters. Possible damage to oil does not exceed 2 percent.

The cargo is jettisoned without releasing the platforms on which it is placed.
