About the Mission
In December 2016, specialists from «Advanced Technologies and Service» conducted a fuel delivery operation in Antarctica. The work was carried out from the ice airfield of the Russian station «Novolazarevskaya» as part of the international DROMLAN program. The airdrop target was point FD-83.
Technical Details
- Aircraft Type: modernized IL-76 aircraft
- Power Plant: PS-90 engines
- Airline: «Volga-Dnepr»
- Airdrop System: in-house manufactured parachute systems
Additionally, parallel to the main mission, tests of the modernized aircraft were conducted.

- Test flights conducted in «Take-off» and «Landing» modes
- Confirmation of the effectiveness of aircraft modernization
- Zero loss of cargo during the airdrop
